“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
WHAT IS GO?
GO is a three-year strategic plan specifically designed for LCC. These Biblical initiatives were thoughtfully and prayerfully cultivated over the last year.
WHY A THREE-YEAR PLAN?
A three-year time frame was chosen because Jesus’ ministry spanned three years from his baptism in the Jordan River until He was crucified. The night before His death Jesus prayed, “I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do” (John 17:4). Jesus accomplished in three years everything God set out for Him to do. So, what can we do in three years?
Let’s GO find out together!
At LCC, God wants to use His people to Go Out and intentionally develop deep relationships based on love, grace, and truth. It is our vision, opportunity, and responsibility to “leave the walls of the church” and Go Out to help others who need His love and life-changing message.
We are focused on connecting in real life and to love and support people, so they can experience Jesus Christ! Then, over time, by forming authentic relationships with those that do not yet know Jesus, we hope to create an opportunity to introduce them to Christ.
We want every believer at LCC to build friendships with unbelievers and share Jesus with them. God’s plan is for each of us to experience His love, salvation, and grow as disciples.
As we help people follow Jesus we must also teach them how to do so. Following Jesus requires us to grow in faith and share what we have learned.
The process of training and equipping believers is called Discipleship. Over the next three years a Discipleship strategy will be developed to instruct all LCC believers. Along the way, Go Deep stories of LCC believers will be collected and we will celebrate with them as they continue on their Discipleship journey.
We want every believer at LCC to be able to identify who is helping them Go Deep in their Discipleship journey and who they are helping Go Deep in Discipleship.
The Bible in Proverbs 22:6 tells us, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Yes, this starts with the family, but also consider the old saying, “It takes a village.”
Statistics show that 85% of believers come to know and make the decision for Christ before the age of 18. With today’s moral culture rapidly declining, it is vital that we capitalize on the opportunity to shepherd and speak into the lives of young people.
We want every believer at LCC to be able to identify how he or she is investing in and walking with the Next Generation.
