The Road with the Rabble

This week in our Road Trip series, Paul and Silas arrive in Berea with a message that creates tension after a "rabble" of people (a disorderly crowd or mob) come to find Paul and Silas from Thessalonica and make trouble. The conflict was not in their delivery. The conflict was in the content. The gospel confronted assumptions and called for surrender. Some pushed back. The Bereans received the message with eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily to confirm it 

Scripture calls the Bereans noble because they tested what they heard instead of reacting to how they felt. The road of truth is the road less traveled, because a lot of the times it intersects with conflict.
