On Mission: A Good Kind of Tired

Verse of the Month
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
—1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

Quick Thought
Labor Day just passed. Hopefully you got a chance to rest a bit, maybe fire up the grill, spend time with family. It’s a holiday that reminds us that hard work deserves a break.

But there’s another kind of work that doesn’t stop, not because it’s exhausting, but because it’s eternal. Kingdom Work.

It’s the kind of work that sometimes leaves you tired, but in the best way. Like when you stay after church to talk with someone you know is struggling, even though you’d rather go home. Or when you give up a free evening to bring a meal to a family that didn’t ask for help, but clearly needs it. Or when you invite someone to your house even though it means less downtime for you.

Challenge
Ask yourself this week:
“Where is God asking me to give a little more of myself for someone else’s sake?”

It might not feel convenient. It might not get noticed. But your labor in the Lord is never wasted.

Keep Following Jesus and Fishing for people!
